What is Unfussy Food?

To people all over the world, simple, fresh comforting food has always been part of a healthy life. Before the days of refrigerated trucks, genetic engineering and supermarkets, folks ate the vegetables they grew in their gardens, animals they raised in their barns and grain that farmers reaped by hand. They ate eggs gathered from their own chickens, fried bacon they had smoked themselves, worked hard on the land and lived to be one hundred.

This is the philosophy of Unfussy Food.

Unfortunately today, small family farms are almost non-existent. Much of the vegetables, fruit, grains and animal products that we eat come from large agri-businesses that use unhealthy shortcuts to produce food as quickly and cheaply as possible. To satisfy demand for a wide variety of inexpensive fruits and vegetables year-round, they use cheap labor and environmentally destructive farming practices. In addition, food animals on large-scale farms are routinely given growth hormones as well as antibiotics to compensate for unsanitary conditions and overcrowding.

Unfussy Food is committed to supporting sustainable farming. Respect for Mother Nature is the first step in growing and raising healthy food. Every effort is made to use the freshest, most pure ingredients, including seasonal produce grown on small, local farms, eco-friendly sea food, and fresh organic meat, dairy and eggs.
